Greytown Heritage House & Garden Tour.

 

The Greytown Heritage Trust proudly presents this self-guided tour, unveiling eleven remarkable properties - many opening to the public for the first time. Spend a summer day exploring the gems of this picturesque town, renowned for its charming homesteads - all while supporting the preservation of our beloved heritage.

 

This event is a fundraiser for the restoration of Greytown's historic Kōuka Cottage (c.1860) at Stella Bull Park, 113 Main St. This important renovation will be
a notable further achievement in fostering Greytown's architectural heritage
and rich social history.

GENERAL INFORMATION & CONDITIONS

Properties are open from 10am-4.30pm. This tour is self-guided, you may visit the properties in any order you wish.

 

Each ticket holder will be sent a wristband and paper map/info document via courier several weeks before the tour. The document will also be available to download digitally, along with a custom Google Map that can direct you between properties. Please present your wristband to the volunteers at the entrance of each property to gain access. Please keep your wristband safe before and during the tour as we cannot accept any non-wristband entries.

 

The property owners on this tour have graciously volunteered their homes and gardens for this fundraising event. Please treat them and their properties with the utmost respect. There will be select homes and rooms with no-entry signage. Please do not touch any items on the properties. Please do not take any photos.

To ensure a safe event for all, this tour is reserved for those aged 14+. Please do not bring any pets with you to the properties. Please note that accessibility is unfortunately limited in a majority of properties on the tour. Toilets will not be available to use on any property. Greytown public toilets will be marked on the map. Although we expect a fine day, the tour will proceed regardless of rain.

 

Cash sales of garden-related items and homemade treats will be available at several properties. The proceeds of these sales will also contribute to the fundraiser.
