Speaker Series


Rob Stevens

Rob Stevens was a noteworthy speaker at the 2025 AGM of Greytown Heritage Trust. He outlined an intricate relationship with heritage; heritage as taonga and as kaitiaki; as treasure and as guardianship. Rob’s discourse heightened the sense of vulnerability for our built heritage, the delicacy of honouring a history and not muddling the evidence too clumsily, and the optimism in some nationally important achievements in shepherding our cityscapes and supporting custodians of our recorded heritage. There are often quiet heroes in our cultural life, people who we can’t necessarily name but to whom we’re unwittingly indebted.
